HyperSpectral’s SpecAI™ portable & culture-free tuberculosis testing cited in report

ALEXANDRIA, VA (May 12, 2025) HyperSpectral, the world’s first AI-powered spectral intelligence company with hardware-agnostic solutions for particle detection, was included in Gartner Emerging Tech: Tech Innovators in Computer Vision Applications, 2025

HyperSpectral was noted for its SpecAI™ platform, which applies deep machine learning to spectral data to rapidly detect pathogens. HyperSpectral’s hardware-agnostic platform is currently being developed as a low cost, portable and culture-free testing system for tuberculosis, one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide.

“We believe inclusion in Gartner research highlights the growing relevance of spectral AI,” said Matt Theurer, co-founder and CEO of HyperSpectral. “Our technology is designed to unlock new layers of insight to transform how diagnostics are conducted for health care, food safety and beyond.”

According to Gartner, “Computer vision is delivering high-value business applications through AI and multimodal solutions. This research helps product leaders revisit their product roadmaps to capitalize on new business opportunities created by computer vision innovators.”
